Online Modules Explanation

Due to the Coronavirus, we are now offering trainings online so you can view and attend from the comfort of your home, instead of having to attend a training in person.

We're calling this Distant Learning.

We're offering new online modules (seen below) as well as changing some of our in-person trainings around the globe to being online instead. If you see a module that says it has been switched to Distant Learning, then that module is now entirely online with no in-person event to go to.

Zoom Breakout Basics

Zoom Breakout Room Basics Two rooms:

Main Session Room and Breakout Room Main Session Room:

  • The main session room is where we will meet each day and hold the Q&A.
  • To ask a question, use the “raise hand” icon. Breakout Room: Location of all Skill Building Experiences
  • You do not automatically get placed in the breakout room. When it is time to be placed into a pre-assigned group, you will need to accept the breakout room dialog box that pops up on your screen. Or, you can click the “breakout room” icon at the bottom of your screen.
  • Sound echoes easily in the breakout rooms, please keep music, phones, and paper moving to a minimum.
  • No phone calls, texting, or children in breakout rooms please.
  • The training Host will send a message in chat: when to start, when to make the protocol transitions, and when to make the move back to the main session room.
  • Observer will be responsible for watching for the chat messages regarding time and switching your triad through the protocol
  • Stay in breakout rooms for all rounds of the triads, do not return to Main Session Room until the 3rd triad is over.
  • Once in the breakout room if you need help from an assistant, go to the bottom of your screen and click the “ask for help” button. This will notify one of the assistants will come to help.
  • You have the option to leave the breakout room and return to the Main session room anytime by pressing the “Leave room” blue button at the bottom of your screen. If you ever need to leave the training for whatever reason, please notify one of the assistants.
  • Remember that we have students from all time zones, please refrain from alcholic beverages or smoking during the Skill Building Experience.
  • To improve connection during the training, please consider using Ethernet connection instead of wifi.

NOTE: You'll need to enter the password we send you to view the videos. You'll receive your password in the order confirmation email you get after completing your payment for a module that includes access to Distant Learning. Contact us if you need your password.

All Modules have to be taken in order but you are open to move from one group to the other to complete the program.

Kathleen Love

From Contracted Developmental Trauma to Lightness of Being and Love- This is the pathway of Kathleen’s work and the knowing she has of what developmental trauma work will lead to.

Kathleen has assisted Transforming the Experienced Based Brain all over the US and parts of Europe for several years.  She has completed over 15,000 hours of clinical touch sessions. In her private practice she offers intensive session work and consultations to clinicians around the world.  Her post-graduate training includes:

Ellen Keating, PsyD, SEP
Somatic healer and Trauma Therapist

Ellen Keating is a licensed psychologist in Wheaton, IL, who works with Developmental Trauma and Transforming Touch. She originally trained in emotion-focused therapy and noticed how clients would go from accessing deeper emotions directly into their traumas. Thus, she became interested in the healing of trauma. She explored Gestalt therapy, focusing, EMDR, and working with parts of the self. Ultimately, she discovered somatic healing and saw the power of touch for the healing of trauma. In particular, when she began to work with Transforming Touch, she noticed that her clients came into an even greater possibility for healing, resolving trauma, and having a full and satisfying life. This developed into her belief that through attunement, attachment, and regulation, even the “oldest” wounds can be helped and healed!

Ellen is a lead assistant for the Transforming the Experience-Based Brain trainings and does extensive consultations for touch therapists. She has conducted thousands of Transforming Touch sessions with clients and believes wholeheartedly in the power of this healing work.

Estelle Fineberg

As a Somatic Psychotherapist, I specialize in Transforming Touch®. I work with adults with early trauma and attachment issues. During sessions the power of adding touch helps to soothe the nervous system, restoring a sense of safety and trust in the moment. Transforming Touch brings a sense of comfort that can allow for the story to
unfold with or without words and a reorganization and a repatterning of the nervous system can occur. Attachment patterns are enabled to shift. I completed my SEP in 2013. Since then I have studied Touch Skills for Trauma with
Kathy Kain and Somatic Resilience and Regulation: Early Trauma with Kathy Kain and Steve Terrell, and Transforming Experience Based Brain I consult with and assist Steve

I love to learn. I am licensed in Social Work, Marriage and Family therapy and Massage Therapy. I am a Trainer in Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy. I also studied Family Systems, Gestalt Therapy, Inner Child Work, Addiction, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, NonSomatic Extraordinary Vessel therapy (an aspect of Chinese Medicine), CranioSacral therapy and Lifespan Integration. All of these trainings inform my work.


Robin Sullivan, SEP, LMT, LMFT

Robin Sullivan is a somatic psychotherapist in the Los Angeles area. As a Rehabilitation Counselor for 25 years, she assisted persons with various disabilities, worked in addiction treatment with Deaf persons, and in various mental health settings. After moving to California, she became a massage therapist, studied Somatic Experiencing©, and Touch Skills/Somatic Practice, and became an SEP in 2012. She went on to advanced studies in developmental trauma and attachment. She has assisted multiple Touch Skills trainings with Stephen Terrell, and for Somatic Resilience and Regulation, and TEB courses as well.

Robin received another master’s degree, and has been working as a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and Professional Clinical Counselor Associate since 2017. Working in various agencies and non-profits these past years, she has been incorporating SE and Transforming Intentional Touch into sessions, including work with couples, building on PACT couples training. She loves to learn, has been called “infinitely curious”, and is often moved by the power of laughter and even music that can arise during sessions. When not working or assisting, she often can be found presenting nationally and internationally in the stuttering community
